Like the rain forest, coral reef provides the marine lives resources to habitat, feed, grow, and proliferate. Now every country in the world is protecting coral reef ecology. The coverage of Dongsha atoll is 500 square kilometers in area measurement. It will cost billions of dollars for the government to build up an artificial reef in this size to conserve the marine resources. Dongsha atoll itself is a natural reef. In order to preserve the marine resources for the future generations, Dongsha must be protected as a National Park.
