Introduction
The Dongsha atoll, located in the north of South China Sea, is about 400 Kilometers from the island of Taiwan. Shaped like a full moon, the completely Developed coral atoll features a rich marine life and unique geographical and Ecological features, and has been designated as a national park.

Dongsha Atoll is located in the North area of South Sea where between Hong Kong, Taiwan and Luzon Island. The distance between the northeast atoll to Kaohsiung is 240 nautical miles and to Penghu is 230 nautical miles; the north atoll to Shantou is 140 nautical miles; the west atoll to Hong Kong is 170 nautical miles and to Hainan Island is 360 nautical miles; the south atoll to Taiping Island is 640 nautical miles and to Malina is 420 nautical miles. As to the latitude and longitude, Dongsha Atoll is located between 20°35~47'N and 116°42~55'E.
Dongsha Island is located at the West of Dongsha Atoll and is the only island among Dongsha Atoll above the sea level. This island is also located at South of Taiwan Strait, at East it can control Bashi Channel, at West it holds a critical position next to Hainan Island. In addition, Dongsha Island also functions as the gate of ships from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau; hence, it has an excellent geographic location. Currently the administrative affair is subject to Kaohsiung government (substitute).
